I tend to be a forgetful sort - I've lost cell phones, money, academic documents, etc. Luckily, today, it didn't cause a big problem.
After leaving the lab this afternoon, I made it all the way to the top of the elephant stairs before I realized that I left my cell phone in the lab. I called up David using one of the university phones (the other fluent English-speaker in the lab) and since he was leaving already, he was going to meet me and drop off the cell phone.
The thing was that I had him drop it off where Cornell intersects Overlook, at the top of the hill - which is a four way intersection with no right angles and usually a lot of traffic.
I walked at a slightly faster pace than I usually do, from the Glaser hall area to the intersection of those roads. Amazingly, I got there about 15 seconds before David's car did, making the cell phone handoff smooth, and without disrupting traffic on the Cornell Road hill (it was 5:45 PM, so the traffic was moderate, not particularly heavy.)
